We’ve teamed up with fashion blogger and Betts Store Manager, Claire McNally from Way of Wear to showcase the key style trends for Autumn Winter and how to style them for the season.
Corporate wear meets street style is the next big trend taking off. It’s also perfect for all of us who don’t work in an office, but still want to create a professional look. You can take a casual outfit like denim jeans and a basic tee and create an elevated 9-5 look by adding a structured blazer and a pointed toe shoe like MANCHESTER, DASH or KITTY.
Autumn Winter is all about introducing pops of colour into your wardrobe. We saw this trend make an appearance throughout Summer and it is only going to get bigger as the cooler weather sets in. Styles like UNITED, DOMINO and SASKIA, from the Betts’ Limited Edition collection would make the perfect pop of colour to add to your look. While bold colours can seem daunting at first, teaming them with neutrals like white, black and grey make them a fail-safe!
When you think of bold colours, you don’t often think of white, do you? Well crisp white shoes like OXFORD, HYPNOTISE and BLOSSOM are having a moment this season and they’ll be the statement you’ll want to add to your neutral Autumn Winter wardrobe! Contrast white with navy, black or khaki for a chic look.
Grunge is taking a step up this season and it has gotten a whole lot classier! Typically, grunge doesn’t bring ‘polished’ to mind but think a more elevated grunge with graphic tee’s layered under biker jackets or blazers, and styled with head scarfs and delicate jewellery. Chunky white sneakers or black boots like PATRIOT, TRAIL or VISION will add a cool edge to your look.
We started to see Gingham print through Spring Summer 17 and now that Autumn has arrived, we’re only going to see more of it! It’s the print that is made up of small black and white checks, making it a versatile piece to wear all year round. Add drama to your Gingham outfit and pair with bright coloured shoes like STALKER, FIREWORK or ZIPPY.
